REEFMAKERS™ work crews are busy cleaning the ship, The General Hoyt S. Vandenberg, at the shipyard in Norfolk, Virginia. It then will be towed down to Key West Florida where it will be sunk (projected May '08) off Key West, in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary for the expressed purpose of taking recreational pressure off the nation's only natural coral reef.

In the meantime it will provide a small economy with approximately 195 traditional jobs and $80-110 million in gross commerce over 10 years. This is a rare chance to do the right thing for the environment AND the economy at the same time, for an environmentally and economically sensitive location.
